Huihai’s Ph.D. Proposal Defense
We are pleased to congratulate Huihai Wang, a PhD student in Community and Regional Planning at The University of Texas at Austin, on the successful presentation of his dissertation proposal.
Huihai’s proposed dissertation, titled “Integrating Autonomous Off-Peak-Hour Parcel Delivery Robots into Complex Urban Environments: A Comprehensive, Sustainable, and Efficient Strategy for Urban Freight System,” explores the integration of robotic delivery systems into existing urban logistics networks. His work addresses the critical challenges of last-mile delivery, urban congestion, and sustainability by proposing a framework for autonomous, off-peak operations.
The defense included a presentation of the research framework, followed by questions and feedback from committee members and the public. Huihai’s work contributes to the evolving conversation around smart mobility, urban logistics innovation, and the role of automation in sustainable city planning.
Congratulations to Huihai on this important milestone in his doctoral journey!
