Celebrating Dr. Choi’s Graduation

and New Chapter as Faculty at NAU

We are thrilled to celebrate a major milestone for our very own Dr. Choi, who has successfully completed his academic journey at the Urban Information Lab — two years in the master’s program and three additional years as a Ph.D. student in Community and Regional Planning at The University of Texas at Austin.

Throughout his time at UIL, Dr. Choi has been an integral part of our lab’s research community. His work focused on transportation planning and urban informatics, contributing valuable insights into how data-driven methods and emerging technologies can improve urban mobility, and infrastructure planning. His leadership in projects and dedication to interdisciplinary collaboration left a strong and lasting impression on both faculty and lab members.

Now, as he graduates with his doctorate, Dr. Choi will begin an exciting new chapter as an Assistant Professor at Northern Arizona University (NAU). We are incredibly proud of his accomplishments and are confident that he will continue to advance innovative urban research and inspire the next generation of students.

Please join us in congratulating Dr. Choi on his graduation and wishing him all the best in his new role. While he may be heading to a new institution, he will always be a cherished part of the UIL family.
